چکیده

Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and mild Alzheimer’s disease (AD) progressively compromise various aspects of cognition essential for everyday functioning independence, including the ability to drive. Reliable measures driving performance can be obtained using simulators designed evaluate fitness This technology may also provide methodology evaluation in a real-world setting, thereby filling interpretative gap between clinic-based tests their relation community function. literature review summarizes impact MCI/AD on (measured by simulator) relationship clinical outcome assessments (COAs) outcomes. A targeted identified publications, outcomes function MCI/AD. meta-analysis was conducted determine relative sensitivity relationships. Standardized mean differences (Hedge’s g method) patients with control participants were calculated. Relationships COAs assessed Pearson’s correlation. Five publications identified. Poorer (including accidents, attention, distance, errors, infractions, position, speed, car control) reported compared participants; varied across studies. There consistent trend have slower reaction times controls. Correlations indicative greater (cognitive tests, MoCA) categories: attention/reaction time (0.18), accidents (-0.65 0.98), general errors (-0.26 0.77) COA measures. The Trail Making Test, commonly used drive, correlated (0.15 0.64). Simulated that correlate serve as an informative gauge assess potential functional therapeutics targeting due AD.
